Every year, hundreds of thousands of Chinese students graduate abroad and return home to work. But the moment they face China's job market, everything feels foreign — the resume format, the interview style, the hiring timeline.

China's main recruiting season runs August to November and requires preparation a full year in advance. Miss it, and you've missed it. This information exists, but it's scattered across group chats, forum posts, and paid consultants that cost thousands.

China's hiring calendar runs on a fixed cycle that most overseas students don't know exists.

The main window is Qiu Zhao — autumn recruiting, running from August to November. This is when the majority of graduate-level jobs open and close. Missing it means waiting another full year. To be competitive, students need to start preparing at least twelve months in advance: researching companies, tailoring their resume, and practicing interviews — all while still finishing their degree abroad.

For students living outside China, none of this is visible. There are no calendar reminders, no school announcements, no automatic notifications. By the time most returnees realize the window is open, it's already closing.

Through interviews with Chinese students studying abroad, three pain points came up consistently. First, they didn't know when to start — the recruiting timeline was invisible from overseas. Second, they didn't know how to translate their experience — a strong Western resume didn't land the same way in China. Third, the help they found was either too expensive, too generic, or too late.

The existing landscape falls into two camps. General platforms like BOSS Zhipin have massive reach but treat returnees as a side feature. Consulting services like AceOffer go deep but cost upwards of ¥30,000 and can't scale. AI tools like Final Round AI are well-built but designed for the US market — they don't understand how Chinese recruiting works.

No existing product is both returnee-specific and tech-driven. That's the white space Nexus sits in.

It’s not just a fun visual game. It’s the exact journey of our users: traveling from the "US" (America, or simply "us"), crossing the bridge (the pivot "X"), and flipping the page to a "new" chapter back home.

How nexus works?

Here's an example. Lin xiao studies design in New York. She's a senior, graduating next year, and wants to go back to Shanghai. When she was ready to start, she had no idea what to do. So she just started searching online. She saw a post — another design student sharing her experience. She clicked it the link. And set up her profile.

She start to discovery nexus and follow step by step.

She takes the first step. Nexus notifies her that the hiring window has three weeks left, and shows her exactly which industries are looking for returnees right now.

She uploads her English resume. Nexus generates a rebuilt Chinese version—reordered to highlight the right projects and results with clear notes explaining every change.

Lin xiao shows her resume to Recruiter. They note that she knows how to present herself from a business angle.

Step three: job matching. Nexus uses her profile to recommend the best-fit roles. It highlights exactly why she is a fit, and sends her a reminder before the deadline.

She starts mock interviews. She practices with real questions from the ByteDance design team.

Nexus provides specific feedback: 'Your answer is too academic. The interviewer wants to see the business thinking behind your design decisions, not just theory.'

She practices five times, with the system tracking her progress in every session.

Nexus runs on a two-sided model connecting students and employers.

What makes the model durable is the flywheel. Students land offers and become employees. Those companies trust the platform and keep hiring through it. Those same employees come back to mentor the next cohort. Schools see the outcomes and partner with us. Every hire strengthens every side of the ecosystem.

For Employers, we charge five hundred dollars per listing, with each post remaining active for seven days.

There’s one more key user we have to mention: our parents.
In many cases, they are the ones actually paying, and often, they are far more anxious than the students themselves.
